Sowore Accuses Tinubu-Led Government of Undermining Nigeria’s Moral Values

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, alleging that the country’s leadership has negatively influenced public institutions and governance.

In a post shared on social media, Sowore argued that a nation led by individuals facing allegations relating to drug trafficking would struggle to maintain strong moral standards and institutional integrity.

According to him, the conduct of those in positions of authority often shapes the behavior and priorities of government institutions.

Sowore also took aim at the Department of State Services (DSS), claiming that some public officials are more loyal to powerful interests than to the Nigerian people.

The activist specifically mentioned DSS Director-General Tosin Ajayi, alleging that security institutions have become aligned with the interests of a political elite rather than the broader public.

He further warned against the abuse of power, stating that no government or public official remains in power indefinitely.

Sowore maintained that accountability eventually catches up with those who misuse authority, adding that a “day of reckoning” awaits public officials who place personal or political interests above national service.

The remarks were accompanied by the hashtag #RevolutionNow, a slogan long associated with Sowore’s calls for political and social reforms in Nigeria.
