Oseni Rufai Lists People He Believes Are Voting Against Their Own Interests Ahead of 2027

Arise Television presenter Oseni Rufai has sparked debate on social media after sharing a list of individuals he believes are acting against their own interests by supporting political leaders whose policies they consider harmful.

In a post that has generated mixed reactions online, Rufai outlined several categories of Nigerians whom he argued continue to support politicians despite facing economic hardship, unemployment, insecurity, poor infrastructure, and other challenges.

Among those mentioned were unemployed persons supporting leaders they blame for job losses, students backing politicians despite disruptions in the education sector, and citizens affected by inflation, insecurity, poor roads, and inadequate electricity supply who continue to support those in power.

Rufai also criticized voters who make political decisions based on ethnic considerations or short-term material benefits rather than competence, capacity, and track record.

The television presenter further referenced academics who participate in election malpractice while later demanding improved welfare and working conditions.

The comments come as political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gain momentum, with many Nigerians debating issues of governance, accountability, economic performance, and leadership.

While some social media users agreed with Rufai’s views and described them as a call for greater political awareness, others argued that voters have different reasons for supporting political candidates and parties.

The post has continued to attract reactions across various social media platforms as Nigerians engage in conversations about the country’s political future and the factors that influence voting decisions.
