Nurses Forum Raises Concern Over Detention of Two Health Workers in Lagos


The Elegant Nurses Forum (ENF) has expressed concern over the detention of two health workers from Okeletu Primary Health Care Centre in Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

In a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Nurse Thomas Abiodun Olamide, the forum identified the affected workers as Nurse Ojumoro Faith and Mellor Grace, a laboratory attendant.

According to the statement, the health workers were taken into custody after visiting a police station in the area. The forum called on the relevant authorities to review the matter and ensure that due process is followed.

The organisation also appealed for the safety and welfare of health workers, noting the important role they play in providing healthcare services to members of the public.

ENF further urged government authorities and relevant stakeholders to look into the situation and provide clarification on the circumstances surrounding the case.

The forum stated that it would continue to monitor developments while advocating for the rights and welfare of health workers.

At the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the police regarding the matter.
